Little Bookmark Box App Reviews

13 Customer Reviews:

Really the only useful bookmark tool. Faster and easier, you can not save any bookmarks. Excellent support when needed. Works flawlessly with all operating systems. Even the bungled start of mavericks could not harm it. Professional software (app) for a low price and always up to date

Horrible application. No import function. the bookmarks do not import well even if done manually... I tried many times and spend a lot of time TRYING to import my bookmarks from Safari. The smart boxes do not make sense...etc...

Using it has been nice, and I dont have to worry about it when I view things in another browser. I have used all the colours for the boxes. It would be nice to change or have more options in colours. The one thing that would of been nice is if I could make boxes with the main box. I do like it though and doing what it supose to.

I like it.

3 machines, multiple browsers on each. Quite handy.

I started using this app after getting tired of manually synchronizing bookmarks between different browsers. It has been great. The smart boxes didn’t work well for me as it is much, much easier to keep everything in the main box and use tags for searching. Worth the investment.

Little Bookmark Box works great! I needed to replace a bookmark system as that one was not carried over by the developer to macOS Sierra. This app puts an icon in the menu bar, and you click on it and get a pop down menu which is a list of boxes. Each box can hold a single bookmark or a bunch of related bookmarks. The pop down menu can be situated where you want it, and you can hide the pop down menu when not using it. The result is a very nice system for holding bookmarks that you do not have room to include easily on the favorites bar of Safari. This way you can avoid a deeply embedded system of bookmarks coming off the menu bar.

This is a waste of money. Pinboard tags are not preserved on import. I can see the tags in my pinboard export html file, but littlebookmark strips them out on import. useless. I have no plans to retag thousands of bookmarks.

I was using another URL manager that did not make it to Lion, and so found Little Bookmark Box. This app is discreet (hides behind an icon in the menu bar), smart (alerts for duplicates), and just all around handy for those bookmarks Id like to keep without cluttering up my browsers. Bookmarks can also be grouped into categories. A+

Overall, I really like this app. Its not perfect, but I found it to be a better performer than the other bookmark utilities Ive tried here. I dont care about wasting time thumbnailing sites or syncing bookmarks elsewhere. I only want them stored locally, universally available and this app delivers. Little Bookmark Box is unobtrusive, yet easily accessible when you need it. The "search as you type" function lags a little, but its not unbearable. No worse than Spotlight, in any case. Given I have thousands of bookmarks saved from various sources over the years, I suppose thats to be expected. Features Id most like to see added are URL validation (#1 on my list), better tag import from existing sources and drag-and-drop moving of bookmarks between boxes. The current method of having to click, choose "Move To", choose a box, etc. is just too clumsy.

This app is utter simplicity that makes a straight-forward file out of all your bookmarks. Easy to set up and easy to maintain. Ive used a lot of different bookmark keeping systems and none of them approached the Little Bookmark Box. Make your own life easier and get this app.

The fact that this costs 14.99 you expect a lot and it doesnt even sync bookmarks in the cloud or gracefully on a single machine. Can I have my money back?

For quite some time I have been looking for a stand alone bookmark manager that would allow me to keep my bookmarks local rather than submitting them to the cloud, but it has proved to be a far more daunting challenge than I first anticipated. I had almost given up when I happened across the app store’s Little Bookmark Manager and I couldn’t be more pleased. It is easy to use, does exactly what it claims to be able to do, and does it very well. It is fast and efficient and I have yet to encounter a single bug or other problem of any sort. This app is truly a lifesaver! If your looking for a bookmark manager, this is definitely the one to get!

There are lots of bookmark managers out there, and most are heavy. This is very light-weight. And easy to use. It catches duplicates when you add them.
